I can blow balloons up with my nose!

What is the scariest thing you have ever done?

Free climbing down a big cliff up in Alaska to get to some awesome caves in the side of a glacier. At the time I didn’t perceive it as very scary, I was dialed-in on getting to the caves and was feeling confident in my abilities, but looking back it is one of the few times in my life I perceive as a do or die situation.

The caves were incredible!

Why do you like working with Gnarly?

For the last 5 years I have focused on eating foods with no refined sugars or GMOs, because I want the best fuel for my body. Outside of your respective sport, what are you most proud of?

Making a difference in the community by creating fun outdoors centered events for people to participate in. It’s so rewarding for me to see people’s lives change as they start to fall in love with being active and being outside.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hands down a greek rice bowl with lots of gyro meat, vegetables, and tzatziki sauce.

Who is your hero? Why?

Jared Ward. He showed me and helped me believe that it was possible to be a successful athlete. He has served as a mentor to me over the years and I couldn’t thank him enough for it. His example of being a great all around person, father, and athlete is inspiring to me.

Any advice for aspiring athletes?

Never give up, believe in yourself, and dream big! It sounds like a cliche, but before I became a successful athlete I was injured for the majority of 5 years. Most of those around me gave up on me throughout that time, but I always kept my eyes on my goals. It took a lot of creative thinking on my part to come up with really tough workouts I could still do during each respective injury. I feel like the discipline and hard work it took to get through this time developed me into an even better athlete.
