Do you collect anything? Nope! What is your most unusual talent? I'm very good at impersonating a horse. What is the scariest thing you have ever done? Got charged by a Bison while trail running. Why do you like working with Gnarly? So many reasons. I love working with the Gnarly team, they're some of the kindest, most caring individuals I've ever met. I also love how the product tastes amazing without using artificial junk to keep it sweet. I've also noticed i've recovered better ever since using their BCAAs after every run/workout. Outside of your respective sport, what are you most proud of? Seven years ago I was in a bad skiing accident and broke my back. I had to have back surgery the day after the accident, and had two rods and nine screws inserted into my spine. The doctor told me I'd be bed ridden for months and could maybe start running again a year later. I'm so proud to say that I was able to fight through the pain and start running five weeks post-surgery and remain living my active lifestyle. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Prime rib, sweet potato hash fried in coconut oil, brussel sprouts fried in bacon grease, and topped off with a bowl of fresh berries and a piece of dark chocolate. Who is your hero? Why? My wife. She does it all. Takes care of our son all day while I'm at work, goes for a run while pushing him in the stoller, crews me at races while taking care of our son, cooks dinner, supports me, and give me back massages before going to bed. Any advice for aspiring athletes? Break your own limits. Any limit you have was put there by your own brain. You can do anything and nothing is too crazy. The only way it is too crazy is if you convince yourself that it is. If you convince yourself that nothing is impossible, your mind will accomplish so much. I recommend... BCAAs - This product does an amazing job at helping you recover. It is sweet and doesn't contain artificial sweeteners. Chocolate Vegan - I'm not vegan, and absolutely love this product. After every run I create my "Magic Mike Magic Smoothie." You need to try it. Mix in a blender:
  • Two scoops of Chocolate Vegan
  • Almond milk(around a pint)
  • 1 whole avocado (you can reduce if you don't need this much fat)
  • Half a banana
  • 3 handfuls of frozen strawberries
