Function
Function
Gnarly Whey Protein delivers 25g of complete protein per serving, giving your muscles the full amino acid profile they need to repair and rebuild after hard efforts — whether that's a long day on the trail, a morning in the gym, or a weekend of back-to-back adventures.
Whey is one of the fastest-digesting protein sources available, making it ideal for the post-workout window when your muscles are most receptive to nutrients. It's particularly rich in leucine — the key amino acid that directly triggers muscle protein synthesis — helping you recover faster and come back stronger for whatever's next.
What sets Gnarly Whey apart is simple: it's clean, it's certified, and it tastes the way protein powder actually should. No proprietary blends, no artificial sweeteners, no fillers. Just a formula you can trust, made by a brand that lives the same life you do.
How to Use
How to Use
Mix 1 scoop with 8–12 oz of your preferred liquid — water, milk, or a plant-based alternative. Shake or blend until smooth.
Use as needed to hit your individual daily protein goal. Most active athletes benefit from 0.7–1.0g of protein per pound of body weight per day, with higher-intensity athletes trending toward the top of that range.
Best used post-workout to support muscle repair, but effective any time of day as part of a balanced nutrition approach.
Stack: Pair with Gnarly Creatine and Gnarly Hydrate as part of your post-session recovery routine.

Gnarly Effect
Gnarly Effect
Use daily, as needed, to support your protein intake goals. Most research supports 0.7–1.0g of protein per pound of body weight per day for active individuals, with higher-output athletes or those building muscle trending toward 1.0–1.2g/lb.
Expect to notice improvements in muscle recovery and reduced soreness within the first 2–4 weeks of consistent use alongside regular training. Significant gains in strength and lean muscle are typically observable after 6–8 weeks of consistent supplementation paired with progressive training.
Results vary depending on training volume, diet, sleep, and individual physiology, but may include faster recovery between sessions, improved strength output, and better body composition over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much protein should I be consuming?
When determining the optimal protein intake for active individuals, the following factors should be considered: mode and intensity of exercise, protein quality, energy intake, carbohydrate intake, and timing of protein intake.
Generally, for endurance exercise, recommended protein intakes range from 1.0g/kg body weight to 1.6g/kg body weight per day, while for strength/power exercise, protein requirements range from 1.6 to 2.0g/kg body weight/day. So while both endurance and strength training increase the need for protein, increased protein in endurance exercise is needed, predominantly, for an increase in mitochondrial density and related proteins as well as increased leucine oxidation (elevating the overall protein requirement), while increased protein for strength athletes is required for the synthesis of new muscle and/or to repair muscle damage.
Why Do You Include Probiotics and Digestive Enzymes?
Gnarly Nutrition includes a digestive enzyme blend and probiotics in our protein products to improve digestion, maximize protein assimilation, and improve general gut health. We’ve had folks that can’t usually digest “whey” tell us they have no digestive problems when using our whey-based products; we attribute this to the high quality of our ingredients and the inclusion of digestive enzymes and probiotics.
What do you use to sweeten your whey products?
For the most part, we use natural non-caloric sweeteners in Gnarly Nutrition products. These include Stevia and Monk Fruit.
We also use small amounts of evaporated cane sugar in our Gnarly Vegan Meal Replacement (to increase the calorie content) as well as our Gnarly Hydrate (to facilitate electrolyte transport).
Why do you use grass-fed whey protein concentrate?
Gnarly Nutrition uses whey sourced from domestic grass fed cows not treated with synthetic hormones—happy cows, eating what they should eat, and producing clean and natural milk.
Why don't you use sugar as a sweetener?
We like to leave the quantity and source of carbohydrates in the hands of our consumers.
I lost my scoop!
1 Serving of Gnarly Whey is 45g. 45g of powder is approximately 3 Tablespoons.
Where’s the scoop?!
No, we didn’t forget yours. We’ve come to the hard decisions to ditch our scoops for the sake of Mother Nature.
Losing the scoops will save an estimated 28,000lbs (that’s a Freight Ship with Rocky Balboa as the Captain) of plastic per year. It’s a no brainer for our beloved Earth.
Now don’t just start pouring powder into your drinks willy-nilly. Have a regular spoon laying around? Good. Here’s the kitchen equivalent:
2 scoops with 10-12 oz of liquid, or 1/3 cup (50 grams) with 10-12 oz of liquid.

Blends well. Great texture and flavor. I've had it straight and mixed in smoothies and either way, it tastes great!
Was this helpful? - EDErik D.Verified BuyerReviewingGrass-Fed Whey ProteinRated 3 out of 5 stars1 month agoMore options would be preferable
Pros: fine texture, dissolves easily, no stomach problems
Cons: too sweet with overt stevia flavor, gets goopy in smoothies, no unflavored option
Honestly think this would be a great product if offered in a flavorless, unsweetened option.
If sweetened, I would prefer real sugar over stevia as an option.
