What is your most unusual talent?
Hmmm.. Probably playing cribbage!
What is the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
Probably some of the crashes I have taken in Alaska while working on film projects. Those mountains are so steep and exposed that when you crash you don’t stop until you make it all the way down. At that point, all you can do is hang on and hope for the best.
Why do you like working with Gnarly?
I feel that both Gnarly and I believe in a similar thing. Give life the best you have in you and progress by working hard to obtain goals you have set for yourself and when you exceed those expectations keep pushing forward!
Do you collect anything?
I collect rocks from everywhere I go. I try to pick up one small rock from each major summit I make it up.
Outside of your respective sport, what are you most proud of?
I like to think I have been a good friend and someone who people can count on when the going gets tough. It’s not every day you find people who actually give a shit.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
One meal?! Damn. Probably chicken, eggs and sweet potatoes. Pretty much what I eat every day anyway. Protein and carbs.
Who is your hero? Why?
I’m not going to name names but a very close friend of mine who has battled so many different battles in life and always seems to come out on top. Never playing the victim and always trying to keep a positive attitude when things aren’t easing up. I look up to most people who have this mentality. People seem to let things get the best of them and I feel inspired by those who push through the negativity and come out stronger.
Any advice for aspiring athletes?
My advice is to persevere. Try to stay stoked on your sport and those who you are in competition with. It’s a shame to see people get burned out at a young age. It’s those who stick with it that end up becoming their best and exceeding any expectations they had previously set. Train hard to play hard.
