Nathaniel Coleman – Gnarly Nutrition

Nathaniel Coleman

Hobby: Kendama, Video Games
Hometown: Murray, UT
Sport: Climbing
Homebase: Millcreek, UT
Causes I care about:
Environmental stability, social equality, redistribution of wealth

Do you collect anything?

Kendamas.

What is your most unusual talent?

Kendama.

What is the scariest thing you have ever done?

Peeing over the edge of a 200 foot cliff!

Why do you like working with Gnarly?

Gnarly is an honest brand with the best intentions. In Gnarly I’ve found not only a supportive sponsor, but good friends who are passionate about their jobs as I am about mine. It feels like whatever happens, Gnarly will be there to support my ambitions.

Outside of your respective sport, what are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the progress I’ve made towards reducing my impact on the planet. There is always a lot more to learn, however I’m more knowledgeable about the problems we face as a planet than I was yesterday.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Ramen.

Who is your hero? Why?

Alex Honnold. Through a pure and humble pursuit of climbing he has found himself at the top of his discipline. Despite being seemingly introverted, he handles the public attention he receieves very well. Lastly, he used his new found influence and wealth to create the Honnold Foundation making the world a better place in a sustainable and empowering way.

Any advice for aspiring athletes?

Pursue what you love, and let your growth be slow and natural. There’s nothing worse than dedicating a lot of time and energy to something only to realize later that it doesn’t mean that much to you.

I recommend…

I use the Chocolate Vegan after some workouts, when a protein source isn’t available quickly or conveniently. I like to mix it with oat or almond milk, Greek yogurt, and peanut butter for a truly indulgent protein shake. My other favorite is the Hydrate. Sometimes cold, sometimes hot, I can make it however strong I like to range from a tea-like experience to something more like a sports drink.
